Did you know? Tofu is a food that originated from China. Nowadays, tofu has spread all over the world because it's very healthy and has a high protein content. In this recipe, I will show you how to make a Deep Fried Stuffed Tofu with Peanut Sauce.

But before we jump into the instructions, let me tell you what's special about this recipe.

Here, we will use pre-fried tofu. It is a fried tofu where the skin is a bit brown yet the inside is still white. What's more, the texture is a bit dry compared to white tofu.

Pre-fried tofu is very perfect compared to the regular tofu or the white one. If you are using normal tofu, the filling would be easy to fall off during the frying process. But, it won't likely happen if you are using the pre-made tofu whose insides are already shrunk. Don't worry, you can find this Pre-fried tofu in Asian Supermarket.

In this recipe, I make deep fried tofu stuffed with vegetables such as cabbage, bean sprouts, spring onions and carrots. Still, you can replace them with your favourite vegetables. All you need to do is just stir-fry the vegetables, cut the tofu in the middle and fill it with the vegetables. After that, coat the tofu with batter and deep-fried.

Deep fried stuffed tofu is very tasty and healthy. The texture will be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. To enrich the taste, I will use peanut sauce in this recipe. Peanut sauce will add a rich, savoury and slightly spicy taste. I added a little vinegar to make the sauce fresher.
